Founded in 2020
It was the during the 2020 lockdown when our founder, Lisa Anderson, was placed on furlough. Not wanting to just sit around, she called a friend and asked, "Hey! Do you want to start a food magazine?"
However, three weeks into furlough and mitigating circumstances, Lisa voluntarily ended her position with the company. Her hobby became a business overnight. Suddenly, there were LLC's, contracts, deadlines, and state registrations.
The first issue was published on August 1, 2020 and continued through its final issue, published on June 1, 2021. With a new focus on the company, Lisa retired the The Chews Letter and launched a community focused magazine called Locala™.
